Director of Grow Ministries: Position Description

Position:  Director of Grow Ministries

Hours:  15 hours per week

Supervision:  Reports directly to the Executive Director who will provide an annual evaluation of performance.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with adults, youth, children, volunteers and staff/ministries of the church
• Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement programs
• Passion for leading a range of activities

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing, supporting and providing leadership to all Adult, Children & Youth Ministries
• Supervise the Chair of Children’s Ministries, the Chair of Youth Ministries, and the Chair of Event Care, providing support as needed
• Meet weekly with the Chair of Children’s and Youth Ministries.
• Create a team ministry that is responsible for planning and execution of all adult, youth and children’s activities including Bible studies, discussions groups, classes/seminars and other small group ministries with the goal of making disciples of Jesus Christ
• Be part of the Vacation Bible School (VBS) Planning Team and support the Chair of Children’s Ministries and the Chair of Youth in their leadership of VBS
• Lead a Women’s Ministry team
• Recruit, train, support & supervise the Grow Ministry team volunteers
• Facilitate the transition of students from children to youth to adult ministry programs
• Coordinate opportunities/events and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and congregants
• Foster a welcoming, safe and diverse environment in line with the church’s mission and adhere to all requirements of the Arcola Church Child Protection Policy and Procedures
• Be present on Sunday mornings
• Attend weekly Staff meetings
• Be a visible and engaged presence in the AUMC community

Salary:  $30.87/hour (2025)
