Mission Trips

As a church, we spend time each year in places outside of Northern Virginia, sharing God's love and being in service to others.

Mexico Mission Trip

This December, Arcola Church is sending a volunteer team of youth and adults - affectionately referred to as the “Blockheads” - to Rio Bravo, Mexico, to continue the partnership we've had with this community for over 20 years. In the past, we've built homes and school buildings; on this trip, we are building a 6 meter by 8 meter cinder block walled, A-frame roofed school library. It is our first trip since the COVID pandemic began. Trip dates are December 18 - 22, and is open to youth and adults ages 9th grade and up. Earn 50 service hours by participating. Total cost of the trip is $850 which includes a really cool t-shirt, food, and lodging at the LARC apartments (Scholarships available). Register below to join the Blockheads! Contact Pastor Chris or Molly Riedel with questions. Whether or not you can travel to Mexico with the team, you can make an impact on the people of Rio Bravo by helping purchase the cinder blocks and roofing materials to make the library a reality.
