Serve in the Community

Make an Impact in Your Community

You can fight spiritual, emotional, and physical hunger in your community by being part of our Serve Team efforts, where we focus on making a difference for our neighbors through a variety of partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and giving efforts. See below for current and upcoming service efforts.

Giving donations to benefit local families through the link below will go to the Serve Team to meet immediate and ongoing needs for our neighbors. Or become part of the Serve Team and help organize these efforts!

Ongoing Serve Opportunities

Personal Hygiene Pantry

The Hygiene Pantry recently relocated to the conference room on Arcola's church campus. It operates the 2nd and 4th week of each month. Families that use the pantry will submit an online request for pantry items. Volunteers will receive a copy of the requests, fill bags with the requested items and deliver the bags to the family's home. All deliveries will be either to Shreveport Ridge Apartments (42597 Prescott Green Square), the Woods Apartments (next door to Shreveport), or to a cluster of townhomes in Brambleton. If you have any questions, please contact Lori Bell (571/220-3273) or Deborah Taylor (571/293-2148)

Homeless Shelter Meals

On the 3rd Sunday of each month Arcola is responsible for providing a dinner to the residents at the Loudoun Homeless Shelter. Volunteers simply need to make a dinner for 8-10 people and deliver it to the church. Instructions are provided on the sign up to make it as easy as possible.

These gift cards are used for food, clothing, toiletries, cleaning supplies, gas, etc. throughout the year.  You can make a contribution directly to the church and indicate “Parent Liaison Giving Tree” or send gift cards to Deborah Taylor. $25 denominations preferred.
