Meet the Director
- I have been a member of Arcola Church for 9 years along with my husband Cecil and daughter Emilyn. I have been a part of the music and art ministry for the last 7 years as a member of Alleluia Choir, Joyful Noise, and Grace Note Ringers. I also enjoyed being a part of the musical Joseph and look forward to The Sound of Music this coming Spring.
- I had never directed a play/musical until last year when Tianna approached me about the virtual production Scrooge in Bethlehem. This was not something I had much experience with and was not even sure where to begin, but with some help, along with the talented children and youth of Arcola the show was a great success. I had so much fun working with the children and youth of Arcola that I couldn't imagine not returning for this year's in person production of "The Night Shift before Christmas" I love watching the show come to life and seeing all the hard work and dedication the children and youth have put in to share with you the message of Jesus' birth to all people, even the seemingly unimportant night shift workers.
- I love all the songs in the musical. They are so upbeat and fun and the kids have enjoyed learning them. I also love the humor and one liners throughout the show. I only hope you all find them as funny as I did, we will have to wait and see. But in all the upbeat songs and humor there is this incredible message. When it came time for our savior's birth, he did not arrive in a palace announced to the most important people. He arrived in a humble village in Bethlehem, in a stable, and was announced only to a group of night shift workers - humble shepherds!
- I want to thank all that helped make the show happen. But most importantly these individuals who I couldn't have done this without: Tianna Durbin, Jenn Roberts, Jennifer Worthington, Rebecca Simmons, Chris Durbin and Carole Salgado
