Thanksgiving and Gratitude

Glad that you are checking out DWAP for November.  It is a busy time with the holidays fast approaching. It is easy to get lost in the details and lose sight of the big picture of what Thanksgiving symbolizes...

  • Connection: Intentionally making time for, and connecting with our loved ones.
  • Adapting: The fact that life is ever-changing, and we’re continuously called to grow.
  • Sustenance: Coming together to nourish ourselves.

It's important to find some time to just be with your partner and reconnect.  In keeping with Pastor Chris' theme for November - gratitude– let’s look at  unique blessings.

Here are some fun “turkey characteristics”.

Did you know that….

  • Only male turkeys’ gobble. ...
  • Wild turkeys can fly. ...
  • Wild turkeys sleep in trees. ...
  • They can change colors. ...
  • Turkeys can see better than humans. ..
  • Female turkeys don't gobble, but they do purr. ...

So you ask why are you looking at Turkeys?   Everyone and everything have unique characteristics or blessings.  This would be a perfect time to count your blessings.  Talk to your partner what are you thankful for.

For this DWAP- try to focus on your partner specially, think about what they have meant to you, how they have helped you become the person you want to be.  Share your hopes and dreams for this new year. Take turns sharing these thoughts with each other. Thank God for the gift of your partner.   Maybe give each other a hug after each blessing,

James 1:17 — New Century Version (NCV)

17 Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows.
