SERVE AT ARCOLA

How are you called to serve others within the church?

You can help on Sunday mornings, throughout the week, and during the year.

Ushers, Greeters, and Parking Assistance:

  • Greeters greet congregants and new visitors as they enter the building, and they encourage newcomers to fill out online visitor cards by using the QR codes.
  • Ushers assist with seating everyone in the Great Room for worship, close the doors at the start of the service, and guide congregational movement during activities such as Communion.
  • The Parking Team serves on special days, like Easter and major events, where overflow crowds are expected. Contact Lori Bell to help in these areas.
Events Team:

Serve on the Events Team to help provide set up and clean up for events at the church such as Christmas Café, Legends Lunch, church picnics, and other special events. Contact Chris Slupe to assist in this area.

Lawn Mowing and Grounds Keeping:

Serve on a rotating basis as a member of the Arcola Landscaping Team that helps mow and edge the church lawn during the months of April-October 2022. Contact Chris Slupe if you are interested in helping.

Angels on Call:

Provide short-term or emergency meals for our Arcola Church families dealing with medical issues or other hardships. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact Molly Riedel, Director of Caring.

Prayer Team and Card Team:

Our prayer team receives prayer requests and commits to praying over these throughout the week. Our card ministry team sends handwritten notes to those needing encouragement. If you are interested in being a part of either of these groups, contact Molly Riedel.

Special Opportunities during the Christmas Season:
  • Angel Ornaments - Create a beautiful, handmade ornament that will hang on our Angel Tree (Oct/Nov)
  • Christmas Cookies – make and package Christmas cookies to be delivered to shut-ins from the church
  • Hanging of the Greens - Help decorate the church for Christmas the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and take down the decorations the weekend after Christmas

Contact Molly Riedel to get involved with any of these holiday activities.

  • Be a lead or an assistant in the nursery
  • Volunteer as a children’s Sunday School teacher
  • Help during special children’s events such as Vacation Bible School
