Summer in the Arts Orchestra Adventures Camp

The Summer in the Arts Orchestra Adventures Strings Camp is a daytime camp from 9am-4pm for rising 6th - 12th grade students with 2+ years experience on their instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass). Students will learn music from a variety of genres and develop their ensemble skills.
Cost is $225 (this includes processing fees). Scholarships available upon request and available to individuals and families who can demonstrate economic hardship..
Campers will choose electives in June; there are no refunds after July 1.
Camp Instructor - Carrie Albers
Ms. Albers, a 2003 cum laude graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory has been with Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) since 2003 and is currently the director of orchestras, choirs, and fine arts department chair at Broad Run High School, a VMEA Blue Ribbon school for music in Ashburn, VA.
Beyond her work in LCPS, Ms. Albers is a frequent adjudicator and clinician throughout the state. She has been a judge for Solo and Ensemble, District Assessment, and VA Governor’s School. She has guest conducted All County Orchestra in Harford County, MD (2018, 2022) and JMU Spring String Thing (2022). She is currently the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association's Regional chairperson for the North Central Region, serves on the state’s music grading committee, the VBODA strategic planning committee, and is a member of the VMEA Council for Music Education.
During the summers, Ms. Albers is involved in several local music camps. She has a private studio in her home where she focuses on the middle school musician and children with special learning requirements. She is a proud member of NAFME, ASTA, and holds a certificate in the Paul Rolland String Pedagogy, and is a proud suzuki Mom.
