A sharp contrast to Holy week, Palm Sunday is a joyous celebration of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The people thought they were getting a ruler and king, shouting Hosanna in the Highest, blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord! And as they shouted Hosanna, the people threw linen garments on the roadside to pave the way for their king. But little did they know that later in the week they would be the same people to shout Crucify Him, Crucify Him! This day ushers in our Holy Week; an often-somber week filled with reflection and contemplation of the power of the cross.
