Our Core Values
We believe we are all part of God’s story; therefore, our core values are based on His word. Our core values have evolved through a backdrop of culture, tradition and stories. Gratefully aware of our past, we honor it by how we live today.
Our Core Values at Arcola United Methodist Church are:
Excellence – We believe we have received God’s best in creation and in His Son; therefore, we strive for excellence in all we do believing God is worthy of our best.
Personal Relationship with God – We believe God loves everyone and desires a growing relationship with each person; therefore, we commit to know God and do His will.
Servanthood – We believe God calls us to be servants and blesses each of us with unique talents and gifts; therefore, we encourage each other individually and as teams to use our gifts in service to our community and beyond.
Compassion – We believe all people matter to God; therefore, we extend love, help, acceptance and hope.
Community – We believe God commands us to love our neighbor; therefore, we develop God-loving, grace-filled relationship where we praise, learn and share together.
